Bill has long-term research interests in ecosystems innovation, disruptive innovation and creative destruction. His current research focus is on encountering and working collaboratively with others in meeting the higher individual human-self, the h-Self of human purpose and highest aspirations, and the collective-self, c-Self, manifest in groups, organizations and institutions of economic, social and political life. He is working on a book about the deeper meaning of business and overcoming organizational and individual blind spots titled The Third Circle.
Bill was formerly Chairman and CEO of Consonant Technologies, Inc. an analytical instrumentation manufacturer in Santa Fe, NM. He is a founder fo Level Three. Bill also operates Krier McCormick & Associates a boutique consulting firm specializing in business and technology strategy and implementation. Mr. McCormick has extensive experience and knowledge in global financial services and logistics, healthcare, telecommunications, retailing, automotive, distribution and retailing industries. Bill also has worked extensively in non-governmental organizations.
Still earlier in his career, Bill was a Vice President at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., Inc. an investment bank and Director of Corporate Systems and Assistant Vice President at American Medical International (now Tenet Healthcare) that owned and operated over 300 hundred hospitals in the US and around the world. In these roles he led implementation of securities trading, clearing, settlement and market making systems, and a range of planning, budgeting, billing, cash management, procurement, labor management and financial management and reporting systems for worldwide operations. He also worked as an integration consultant to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and other research and teaching facilities, as well as in regional and urban medical centers.
He has a BS and Masters in Business and worked on a Ph.D. in Business Strategy at the Claremont Graduate University, Peter Drucker Center for Executive Education. He also is a member of the General Anthroposophical Society and the First Class of the School for Spiritual Science.
He has extensive experience in corporate governance and strategy with various business enterprises and non-governmental organizations. In addition, Mr. McCormick has been involved with Waldorf education for almost twenty years as a parent. He has served on the Boards of several Waldorf schools.
